In accordance with the Carleton policy, Honourary and Affiliated Ranks, an adjunct professor is a retired associate or assistant professor or an external appointee who has demonstrated significant involvement in the intellectual life of an academic unit, such as teaching or other projects, and who is nominated by the School for this position.
