- Construction Benchmarking Project - Physical Plant
-
The purpose of this project is to find out how best to communicate the status of construction projects to clients, and at the same time how best to educate clients on the overall Project Delivery Process and improve the clients’ overall satisfaction with the project implementation experience. The goal of this project is to improve monitoring by the staff in Physical Plant and communication to clients on the status of construction service projects. Better tracking and monitoring of projects will allow the Project Co-ordinators, the Manager, Construction Services, the Director, Physical Plant and eventually the client to access and monitor the current status of a construction project.
The team’s recommendations have been accepted by the Benchmarking Steering Committee. Physical Plant has put together an implementation plan, and is engaged in carrying out the recommendations.
- Parking Benchmarking Project - University Safety
-
The purpose of this project is to identify and make recommendations on alternative ways of providing parking permits, improving response time to clients, and generally, improvements to parking on campus. These could include improving maintenance of parking lots, increasing handicapped and visitor parking spaces, providing more security phones and closed circuit televisions, and improved signs and cash display boxes. The goal of this project is to improve the parking service, minimize time to respond to customer requests, and to reduce the number of ‘walk in’ customers.
The team’s recommendations have been accepted by the Benchmarking Steering Committee. Physical Plant has put together an implementation plan, and is engaged in carrying out the recommendations.
