The School of Computer Science recommends that you enable Windows Defender if you do not have an anti-virus application installed on your laptop.
Firewall
A firewall is a network security device that monitors incoming and outgoing network traffic and permits or blocks data packets based on a set of security rules. You should have your Windows firewall turned on.
Windows 10 backup and restore
Windows 10 has an automatic tool to make a copy of everything on your computer, including operating system files, settings, apps, and all your files stored in the primary drive, as well as those files stored in different locations. Then when there is a system failure and a critical error prevents your laptop from starting, you can use the “Backup and Restore” feature to recover individual files or the entire system as necessary.
Backing up Files
You may want to backup user files more frequently than system files. There are a number of ways you can backup your files and protect them from system failures or user errors.
