The School of Computer Science has a Gaming & VR Lab

  • 6 x Alienware PC’s with RTX 4070 GPU’s
  • 2 x Lenovo Legion PC’s with RTX 4080 GPU’s for the VR headsets
  • 2 x Meta Quest 3 VR headsets (sign-out)
  • 1 x laser projector – Instructions

Using VR in the lab

The gaming lab (HP5151) has two dedicated VR areas for you to develop and test out VR applications. Both areas have high-powered PCs for performance intensive VR applications, with a designated section (6ftx6ft) for you to test out and run your applications.

The VR PCs are running Windows 11, and have Unity and Meta’s Quest Link preinstalled.

Note: You will need accounts for both Unity and Meta Quest Link. You will also need to register your Meta account as a developer account to run your applications.

Signing Out a Headset:

You can sign out a Quest 3 headset from the tech staff’s offices (HP5161, HP5163, HP5165, HP5347)

To sign out a headset:

  • Fill out this request form
  • Come to one of the offices with your student card to grab a headset

You will receive:

  • A Meta Quest 3 headset
  • 2 Controllers
  • A USB Cable for charging and connecting
  • A charging port
  • A Silicon Face Pad
  • A carrying case

Note: You will need a Meta Account to use the headset

Returning a Headset:

Make sure you reset the headset to factory default before returning it: instructions here
