Vice-President, Advancement Search Commencing

Published on October 1, 2026

Time to read: 1 minutes

Carleton University has launched a search for a Vice-President, Advancement, a new executive leadership position approved and established by the Board of Governors at its April 28, 2026 meeting.

The new role will provide executive leadership for Carleton’s growing advancement activities, including fundraising, alumni relations, communications and external engagement, and strengthen the university’s ability to build long-term relationships with alumni, donors and partners in support of its academic and research priorities.

The university has engaged Boyden as the executive search firm supporting the process.

An Advisory Committee representing a range of roles and perspectives across the Carleton community has been established to support the search and provide advice to the President, who will then make a recommendation to the Board of Governors for the appointment. Information about the committee’s membership, the position advertisement and the appointment guidelines is available on the dedicated webpage.

Questions about the search can be directed to the University Governance Secretariat at secretariat@carleton.ca.

Sincerely,

Wisdom Tettey
President and Vice-Chancellor
