Strategic Initiatives

Reporting to the Vice-President (Students and Enrolment), Strategic Initiatives (Students and Enrolment) plays a key role in supporting students, faculty and staff to empower students in achieving their academic, personal and professional potential.

Our Philosophy

Strategic Initiatives (Students and Enrolment) is guided by our divisional aspiration and values, as set out in Helping Ravens Soar: Students and Enrolment Strategic Plan 2021-2026.

Our guiding philosophy as a unit is centered on empowerment. We believe in providing the information, resources and tools necessary to enable others to achieve their goals. We are committed to offering exceptional support, while focusing on continuous improvement and enhancing organizational excellence throughout the S&E Division.

Our Functions

Strategic Initiatives (Students and Enrolment) works closely with all units in the Students and Enrolment division, providing support in four primary areas: student communications, web and digital initiatives, strategic projects and executive support.

Student Communications

Responsible for managing current student communication, including social media, newsletters and the current students website. Also provides support and guidance to units across the S&E division through working groups and oversight of the Student Communications Policy.

Web and Digital Initiatives

Develops and manages divisional web properties, such as websites and web applications, to increase efficiency, improve user experience and enhance functionality. Also leads and contributes to key digital projects, such as the Carleton Mobile App and Carleton360.

Strategic Projects

Coordinates a variety of initiatives with strategic importance to the S&E division, such as the Student Support Certificate, the Evaluation Framework and organizational excellence initiatives. Also responsible for the oversight, implementation and reporting for Helping Ravens Soar: Students and Enrolment Strategic Plan 2021-2026.

Executive Support

Provides executive support to the Vice-President (Students and Enrolment) in key areas, such as divisional reporting, internal communications and committee representation.
