The highly interdisciplinary Sustainable Energy program at Carleton University is run jointly by the Faculty of Public Affairs and the Faculty of Engineering and Design. Research and coursework see students interact with professors and practitioners across the two faculties, in departments including the School of Public Policy and Administration, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, and Systems and Computer Engineering. Students involved in research projects are expected to conduct critical analysis at both the technical and the policy levels, ensuring that graduates do not treat either domain as a “black box” in their professional careers.
