Carleton Law Society presents
“Women and the Law” – A panel discussion
Featuring a group of successful women in the field of law and legal studies, with very different career paths, the event promises to inspire a discussion on the trials and rewards of pursuing a career in the law. The leadership qualities and spirit that these women embody will inspire you, whether you are considering becoming a lawyer, a judge or a professor; or looking at your next steps within your current career.
From taking the plunge into the law, balancing a career and other aspects of your life, and everything in between, our expert panel will share with you what they have learned along the way.
Introductions by Brettel Dawson, Carleton Law Professor
Discussion moderated by Dr. Roseann O’Reilly Runte, the President and Vice-Chancellor at Carleton University
Panelists include:
The Honourable Justice Rosalie Abella of the Supreme Court of Canada
Nathalie Des Rosiers, Doyenne/Dean, Common Law Université d’Ottawa/University of Ottawa
Katie Black, Lawyer at Caza Saikaley srl/LLP
Doors open at 6:00 PM, with the panel discussion starting at 6:30 PM.
