One of our Associate Scholars, Dr. Melanie Adrian, is having a book launch Thursday, October 15, at 7:00 PM at Octopus Books Centretown, 251 Bank St., 2nd floor. Her book, Religious Freedom at Risk: The EU, French Schools, and Why the Veil was Banned, examines matters of religious freedom in Europe, considers the work of the European Court of Human Rights in this area, and explores issues of multiculturalism and secularism in France, of women in Islam, and of Muslims in the West.
