In this video, Dr Michael Johns discusses the impact of the EU’s eastern expansion on migration patterns within the EU, and explores the fears and social reactions to this migration in western European member states. Dr Johns is the Chair of the Political Science Department at Laurentian University, and served as Vice-Dean of Arts at the Barrie Campus.
The video was recorded at a lecture Dr Johns delivered at Carleton University on January 30, 2015, entitled: “Canary in the Coal Mine? Intra-EU Migration, Social Cohesion, and the Future of the European Union.”
