We are pleased to present a special Jean Monnet Centre lecture with Mr. Anders Vistisen.
Abstract: Terror committed by various radical groups threatens the security, the democratic values and the rights and freedoms of the EU citizens. What are the lessons learned from the EU’s experiences with radical Islamic groups in Europe since 9/11? The speaker will share his expertise about the characteristics of the environments and socioeconomic conditions which may have fostered growth of terror cells. The methods of shared cooperation will be further discussed as an effective policy in the prevention of terror attacks.
About the speaker: Mr. Vistisen is a member of the Danish People’s Party and a representative for European Conservatives and Reformists in the European Parliament for Denmark. He is First Vice-Chair of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs committee and a substitute member of the Committee for Civil Liberties and the Special Committee on Counterterrorism.
No registration is required to attend. Light refreshments will be provided.
This event is sponsored by the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence in the Centre for European Studies (CES), Carleton University.
