The Jean Monnet Chair in EU External Relations is very pleased to host a roundtable:

The EU and Global Economic Governance

Background: The evolving balance of power in a multipolar world coupled with rapid technological advancements, and increasing geo-politicization of trade, as well as unilateral shifts in trade policies are reshaping global economic governance. In this context, the European Union (EU) is striving to position itself as a strong, cohesive actor on the international stage. This roundtable will bring together academic experts to explore several key topics, including the EU’s shifting role in the global economy, the effects of the Eurozone crisis and Brexit on its contribution to global governance, the EU’s growing trade unilateralism, the increased influence of AI on economic and political dynamics, and transatlantic relations in light of a rising China.

Roundtable Panelists:

Following the conclusion of the roundtable, there will be a networking lunch hosted for registered attendees of the event.
