Policy on Gender Equality
The 2018 COSC Meeting strives to achieve gender representation in line with the gender balance in our research community at varying career stages. The conference will aim to achieve this gender balance on its Local and Scientific Organizing Committees, through its session chairs and through abstracts selected for oral presentation as well as through invitations to plenary speakers.
The Tenth COSC Meeting is the first in this series to present a gender policy and to collate information on gender balance. Therefore, we are offering an opportunity for delegates to voluntarily disclose their gender and career stage at the time of abstract submission. This will provide important information for tracking and improving gender equality over time. Our position is that research excellence in our discipline requires acknowledging achievements of all genders as well as encouraging and inspiring future research leaders of all genders.
- Only trainees (Students & Post Docs) can apply for the travel awards.
- Trainee needs to indicate while registering and submitting the abstract that they want to apply for travel awards.
- Deadline for applying for Travel Awards is March 29th, 2018.
- Send by email to Dr. Arno Siraki: firstname.lastname@example.org a half page outlining the importance of the findings/need for the travel assistance.
- Travel Awards will range in value from $250 – $500 Canadian. The number of travel awards will be dependent on available funds.
- Please ensure that the supervisor information on the registration form is fully completed.
