Welcome from the Chairs of the Local Organizing Committee for the Canadian Oxidative Stress Consortium

On behalf of the Local Organizing and Executive Committees, we are honoured to welcome you to Guelph for the 9th Meeting of the Canadian Oxidative Stress Consortium,to be held at the University of Guelph from June 1st to 3rd, 2016. This meeting boasts an outstanding scientific program that brings together Canada’s leading researchers in the field of oxidative stress. The 2016 COSC meeting will have ten symposia focused in the following areas: 1) Chemistry and Transition Metals 2) DNA repair3) Regulation of Transcription 4) Neuroscience 5) Diabetes & Kidney Health 6) Aging 7) Cancer 8) Cardiovascular Health 9) Metabolism10) Plants.

One of the primary goals of TheCOSC is to improve training opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in Canada.  The 2016 COSC meeting will tscience_complexherefore highlight the work ofboth graduate and postdoctoral traineesin dedicatedsymposia,and offer both travel and poster awards for outstanding abstracts and presentations. Moreover, the COSC strives to strengthen the ties between our academic members and our industry partners. We have therefore invited members of the biotechnology sectorto showcase exciting new technology and offer workshops to encourage networking with our attendees. Please help us market the meeting by circulating the COSC 2016 Meeting Poster to any interested colleagues.
