Research: Dr. Wagner investigates DNA damage and repair induced by ionizing radiation, ultraviolet light and other genotoxic agents. His focus is on the synthesis of modified nucleosides and oligonucleotides, the unstable intermediates study the markings, kinetic studies and analyzes of damage by mass spectrometry. His research examines the epigenetic effects of DNA modification and its relationship to cancer. Other projects investigate the metabolism of vitamin C and its role as an antioxidant.
