Research: Dr. Kumarathasan’s research investigates the toxicology of air pollutants, engineered nano-materials and other environmental contaminants. She develops analytical methods for advanced biomarker research and have applied these metabolomic and proteomic biomarker approaches in in vitro, in vivo animal and human pollutant exposure studies for identification of toxicity mechnaisms and adverse outcome pathways to assist risk assessment/regulatory processes, as well as to aid in implementation of intervention/mitigation strategies.
