New Undergraduate Research Internship Program
The Undergraduate Research Internship Program, a new joint initiative of the Office of the Vice-President Research & International and the Faculty of Public Affairs, starts this summer. This is a student led initiative in which students will complete a research project during the summer of 2016 in collaboration with a faculty member in the Faculty of Public Affairs.
Students must have completed at least the 2nd year of their Undergraduate program and be taking a Major in the Faculty of Public Affairs. Students who are graduating in June are eligible for this program. Students will receive a stipend of $6000 over the course of the summer. The expectation is that the research project undertaken will constitute a full-time, or near full-time, opportunity during the summer term.
Students must submit a 1-page proposal of the research project, which must be supported by a statement from the faculty member who will be supervising the project. Students must also submit their resume, a transcript, and a 1-page cover letter that sets out the project and what skills and experiences they hope to gain through this program.
In the Fall 2016, students will be expected to give a brief presentation of the research they undertook as well as submit a 2-page abstract of their research that will be compiled into an online proceedings of Undergraduate Student Research 2016.
