There are changes to the program requirements for the BA in Criminology as of September 2016 and 2017. These changes could affect course selection for students admitted prior to Fall 2017, as well as any students making any program changes. If you plan to make a program change, please contact the Institute for advising at BEFORE making the change. We want to ensure that you meet degree requirements or don’t exceed the maximum number of CCJ Electives; both of which could jeopardize your graduation.

  • SOCI 2002 is no longer offered. Criminology students with a concentration in Sociology can replace it with SOCI 2000.
  • LAWS 3908 is no longer required for new incoming Criminology students with a concentration in Law. It can be replaced with 0.5 credit in free electives.
  • PSYC 3000 is no longer required for new incoming Criminology students with a concentration in Psychology. It can be replaced with 1.0 credits in free electives.
  • CRCJ 3003 is no longer offered. Criminology students can replace it with EITHER a CCJ Approved Elective at the 3000-level OR a free elective of their choice. Please seek advising to determine which option is better for you.
