The Institute of Criminology and Criminal Justice congratulates Chanel Lorena and Katerina Richard, recipients of the 2023-2024 ICCJ Outstanding TA Awards!
TA Award recipients are nominated by faculty, instructors and/or students. The committee bases the award on criteria such as teaching skills, grading/feedback, communication, learning environment, and other qualities that exemplify TA excellence.
The ICCJ greatly appreciates all TA efforts throughout the academic year. We are very pleased to celebrate the exceptional work of Chanel and Katerina this year, both of whom tirelessly provided phenomenal support for students in their CRCJ courses.
A quote from Chanel’s nomination reads, “Chanel’s consistent attendance in class and accessibility during office hours fostered a supportive learning environment for her students… Chanel ought to be a role model for future teaching assistants. If there is training required to be a teaching assistant, Chanel should lead it.”
A quote from Katerina’s nomination reads, “I have been impressed with Katerina Richard’s ability to create a positive learning environment for students. She has encouraged students in their studies by remaining mindful of diverse students’ needs and life difficulties, striving to be empathetic and understanding in all of her interactions with students.”
Congratulations to Chanel and Katerina. Thank you for your exceptional contribution to the success of our students!
