2026-2027 ARAC Student Essay and Community Engagement Award Submissions Open
The Institute of Criminology and Criminal Justice is seeking applications for three student awards. Applicants must be in a Criminology and Criminal Justice program (either a declared major or minor), be in good academic standing, and be registered (part/full time) throughout the Fall 2026/Winter 2027 academic terms.
Student Essay Award (Anti-racism) – Value $500
ICCJ students researching and writing about efforts to address systemic racism and white supremacy are invited to apply for this Student Essay Award. Essays include research papers undertaken for courses or Honours theses.
Student Essay Award (Decolonization) – Value $500
ICCJ students researching and writing about Indigenous sovereignty and decolonization are invited to apply for this Student Essay Award. Essays include research papers undertaken for courses or Honours theses.
Community Engagement Awards – Value $500
ICCJ students working on anti-racism or decolonization issues in the community or as part of their placement.
Application Deadline: Tuesday, April 12th 2027
