Congratulations to Professor Simon Power who is celebrating his 35th anniversary of working at Carleton University as a faculty member in the Department of Economics. Professor Power has been a significant part of our department and the Carleton community for his entire career here. He has received 22 teaching awards, and spent many years as a teaching mentor for other faculty members. When we went through the process of changing our undergraduate program from a BA in Economics to the Bachelor of Economics (currently it is the only program of its kind in Canada), Professor Power had a large role in that transition. In addition to this, he coordinates events for our alumni to keep them engaged in our Carleton community. Professor Power’s impact on the B.Econ program, his colleagues, students, Economics alumni, and the Carleton community has been significant. We look forward to many more years of having him as a part our department. Congratulations and many thanks to you, Professor Power!
