Biography
In high school, Sabreen took her first economics course and fell in love with the content and decided to pursue it, in good part due to a phenomenal educator, Mr. Braden Hutchinson. During her time at Carleton, she really enjoyed the courses – particularly, European Economic Integration (by Prof. Crina Viju) and Derivatives (by Prof. Yuriy Zabolotnyuk) and by extension, the Financial Economics concentration courses. In the course of her undergrad, she had the opportunity to be President of the Carleton Undergraduate Economics Society where alongside running social and academic events, she made some of her closest friends. Later on, she had the chance to volunteer for the World Economic Forum and help launch a financial literacy webinar as well as gain internship experience at Statistics Canada and in Risk Management. Outside the Loeb Economics Lounge, she played an excessive amount of ultimate frisbee, took up sustainable dressmaking and tried out adrenaline sports (most recently: skydiving and shipwreck free diving)!
What will you pursue next?
Moving forward, I’m excited to be heading to the University of Toronto for the Master of Financial Economics!
