Carleton University is partnering with University of Alberta on the ELITE Program for Black Youth. The program creates opportunities for Black Youth to access experiential learning and work integrated training in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields and entrepreneurship. Interns are involved in projects with internship hosts such as university researchers, for-profit industry companies, and government agencies. The internship hosts are experienced professionals or companies with the necessary qualifications and expertise to train young people and provide them with the necessary technical support and coaching. Through the ELITE Program for Black Youth, interns will acquire marketable technical skills and build a professional network for future employment prospects.
Internships which are fulltime and 12 to 16 weeks in duration may qualify as eligible co-op work terms.
Interested in becoming an internship host? Visit the ELITE Program website or contact Professor Robert Langlois at RobertLanglois@cunet.carleton.ca or Professor André McDonald at elite@ualberta.ca
