Virtual Career Fair FAQ

What is a virtual career fair?
A virtual career fair is an online recruitment event in which employers can meet job seekers in a virtual environment, using video calls, chats, or teleconferencing, to share information about their organization, promote job openings, and screen candidates.

Carleton’s virtual career fairs will be hosted using an online career fair platform.

What does hosting a booth at a virtual career fair look like?
Your organization will be given a virtual booth where you can post information about your company, share insight about your application and hiring processes, introduce your recruiter(s), link to your current full-time, new grad, and co-op opportunities, etc.

You can customize your virtual booth by uploading your company logo and a banner image.

How do students attend the virtual fairs?
The virtual fairs are open to Carleton University students and alumni only.

Once students have created an event profile, they can enter the fair website and browse booths by company name. If a student is interested in learning more about your organization and current opportunities, they can view your company booth and chat one-on-one with your recruiter(s) through text chat, phone or video call on the day of the event.

How will the fair be marketed to students?
The virtual career fairs will be promoted to students through event listings on several Carleton event calendars and the Carleton Mobile App, posts in student, staff, and faculty newsletters, email campaigns to targeted students and academic departments, as well as shared widely on Career Services’ social media channels.
