On May 9, to commemorate the end of the Great Patriotic War, two Moscow libraries, Library 180 and N.F. Fedorov Museum-Library, organized an online seminar to discuss this important event. One of the participants of the seminar was Svetlana Klimova, one of the judges of this year’s Canada-Wide Russian Writing Contest, organized by Carleton University, in cooperation and support from the Russia-Canada Business Council and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Canada.

During her presentation, Svetlana Klimova has shared her impression about this year’s edition of the contest, including highlighting and reading parts from some essays that shared touching stories about their ancestors’ participation in the war. One of the most popular contest topics among the contestants was “‘There is no such family in Russia that was not affected by the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945)…’: About my ancestors who participated in the Great Patriotic War“.
