EURUS Carleton-uOttawa Exchange

In addition to the many courses offered at Carleton, EURUS students also have access to courses offered at the University of Ottawa. This is particular relevant for students looking for foreign language instruction, as sometimes they have different levels or languages than are offered at Carleton in a particular year. University of Ottawa modern Language courses are offered by the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures. 

Graduate Student Carleton-University of Ottawa Exchange

Carleton graduate students register for University of Ottawa courses through the Graduate Student Exchange Program (or joint programs, if applicable). You must fill out the Carleton University Graduate Student Exchange Form, get approvals from both universities, and submit it before uOttawa deadlines.

Steps to Register in Courses at University of Ottawa

1. Complete the Exchange Form

• Download and fill out the Carleton Graduate Student Exchange Form.
• You can find information about course offerings at the University of Ottawa here: University of Ottawa Course Timetable.
• If you have one, please enter your uOttawa student ID number on the form. If you don’t have one from a previous term, leave it blank.

2. Submit to Carleton for Approval

• Email your completed form along with links to the course descriptions on the University of Ottawa Course Timetable to GraduateStudies@cunet.carleton.ca.
• It is also highly recommended to attach an unofficial transcript from Carleton (accessible via Carleton Central) so the department can verify you meet the prerequisites.

3. Send to uOttawa for Final Approval

• Once Carleton approves and signs the form, they will send it back to you.
• Forward the signed form to the corresponding uOttawa Faculty Office or Graduate Program Office for the course you wish to take.

4. Activate your uOttawa Account

• If you need a student ID card, you can apply online through the uOttawa Card Service.
• After your registration is processed by uOttawa, you will receive an email explaining how to access your uoZone portal and set up your @uOttawa.ca email address.
