Opening Ceremonies
6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Description: Meet your team leaders and volunteers. Get a rundown of the week’s schedule. Participants will see a presentation from the EngFrosh planning committee which will get you ready for the week ahead. While the ceremonies will officially start at 6:30 p.m. participants are invited to begin arriving at 5:00 p.m. to meet and hang out with their teams.
Location: Alumni Park (outdoors)
Glow Dance Party
10:00 p.m. – 12:30 a.m.
Description: Light it up! Hit the dance floor to some of the top songs of summer as well as some throwback jams. This event is part of the Central Fall Orientation schedule with EngFrosh participants welcome to attend.

Beach Day!
6:45 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Description: EngFrosh takes their activities to the beach. Join your teammates for a day full of outdoor activities and challenges with Wildness Tours. Participants have the opportunity to enjoy whitewater rafting (advance registration with additional payment required). Lunch will be provided on site. Check out what’s in store for you here!
Be sure to pack lots of water and stay hydrated throughout the day. The CAF at Residence will be open for pick-up and go breakfast options at 6:30 a.m. for residence students with a meal plan. Non-Meal Plan holders can purchase a breakfast bag for $10 (+HST). Buses leave at campus at 7:00 a.m. sharp.Be sure to wear/bring a bathing suit if you plan on going in the water or if you have purchased the whitewater rafting add-on. Rafters will also need shoes that can go in the water / get wet. You will also want to make sure you have sunscreen and stay hydrated throughout the day.

Dinner in Leonardo’s Lounge!
6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Description: Participants will get a chance to sample some delicious sandwiches while being introduced to Leonardo’s Lounge, a special social lounge and convenience store for FED students brought to you by the Carleton Student Engineering Society.
Location: 3rd Floor Mackenzie Building
CU at Night!
9:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
Description: It’s been a loooong day, Ravens, but we’re not done yet! Join your fellow students for VERY varied programming throughout Nideyinàn, Tory Building and Paterson Hall. Choose your own adventure, Ravens!9:00 p.m.
EPIC Bingo!
Location: Nideyinàn Food Court
What is it: Your chance to play a true throwback game and win EPIC prizes such as Kindle e-readers, Beats headphones, Campus Card top-ups and MORE! Join your hosts, the Campus Activity Board, who host this event monthly!9:00 p.m.
Silent Disco

What is it: We’ll be setting up some of our old school game consoles for some good old fashioned fun.9:00 p.m.
Festival of Lights
Location: Rooster’s Cafe, The Wing and Tory Building 234 (Zumba)
What is it: Immerse yourself in interactive zones designed to showcase CUSA’s Service Centres unique offerings. Join fellow students for a variety of captivating activities, including: Taste your Rainbow, Wall of Mirrors, Paint your Flag, Beyond the Frames Exhibition, Medicine Bag Making Workshop, Cultural Euphoria, Zumba and more.

CUSA Nightscape

What is it: Step into a realm of mystery and adventure at CUSA Nightscape Escape Rooms. Uncover secrets, solve puzzles, and experience a night of unforgettable intrigue.9:15 p.m.

What is it: Prefer to kick back and relax after a long day? Join us for a movie before you call it a day. Title to be announced shortly.9:15 p.m.
Pride Spotify Mix and Mingle
Location: Tory Building 431
What is it: The SEO Pride team presents the Pride Spotify Party; a fun and interactive event where 2SLGBTQ+ students and allies can mix and mingle while enjoying music, including songs they choose. This event offers students the opportunity to meet others in the 2SLGBTQ+ community. Light refreshments will be served.9:15 p.m.
Trivia Night with CATL
Location: Paterson Hall 201
Are you in the Linguistics, Applied Linguistics & Discourse Studies, or Modern Languages program? Or are you interested in languages or linguistics? Join us for a Jeopardy-style game with trivia questions about general language/linguistics knowledge and information about the various programs at Carleton. Hosted by the Carleton Applied and Theoretical Linguistics Society (CATL), this is a fun opportunity to make new friends with similar interests! Students from all programs are welcome.9:15 p.m.

What is it: Join some of Carleton’s finest Engineering students as we build miniature toy cars and put them to test on various race tracks! This event isn’t just for Engineering students; come one, come all!9:30 p.m.
Bob Ross Paint Night

What is it: Join us as we pay tribute to the creator and host of The Joy of Painting, Bob Ross! Follow along as Bob teaches you to create your own masterpiece. Another monthly event hosted by the Campus Activity Board. All materials supplied.9:30 PM
CU Speed Mingle

What is it: It’s like speed dating, but for friendships! You’ll have a great time breaking the ice and making new connections. With speed mingling, you can meet many new people in a short amount of time, making it rapid way to expand your social circle.

Academic Orientation Day

Description: Introducing you to the Faculty of Engineering, this is your opportunity to meet professors and staff within your academic department and enjoy a BBQ lunch. This event is mandatory participation for all first-year students. More information about Academic Orientation Day is available on its dedicated website.

FED Fair
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Description: Carleton University Student Association has over 200 clubs and societies that provide programming that covers all areas and interests of Carleton students and the Faculty of Engineering has specific clubs that cater to engineering students; this is your opportunity to attend a trade show style set up to learn about the various clubs and societies available. A list of participating clubs and further information about FED Fair and Carleton Expo is available here.

Bus Tours
5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Description: Take a tour and learn all about Ottawa’s hot spots. Participants will get a chance to explore Ottawa on a chartered bus while seeing all the attractions that our great city has to offer.
Location: Teams meet at Mackenzie Quad. Buses will depart from and return to Carleton University Parking Lot #7
Let’s CU Chill – Board Games
4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Description: Drop in and play some awesome board games with peers or just come by to check out the new quiet space available within Equity and Inclusive Communities offices that’s open to students throughout the year, equipped with a library of books and other self-care items. There will be lots of games to choose from but feel free to bring your favourites along too! This event is open to all students and light refreshments will be available.

CU @ the Coffee House

Description: Enjoy some live music and poetry presented by your fellow Ravens. This open-mic style event will let you see just how creative and talented our students can be when they take the coffee house stage.Location: Rooster’s Coffeehouse (Nideyinan)
Prehistoric Pictures: Jurassic World

Description: SciFrosh invites all students to a screening of Jurassic Park. Join us for a throwback flick, popcorn and candy!

Carleton U Esports Gaming Night

Description: If you’re someone who puts the ‘E’ in Esports, then get yourself logged in and ready to play in Tespa Carleton’s Fall Orientation game night! This will be a casual environment for students to participate virtually in friendly bracket style competitions for some of your favourite games, including Super Smash Bros, 2k, Apex Legends, and so much more!

Description: Participate in Shinerama by spreading awareness & fundraising in support of Cystic Fibrosis Canada! An annual fundraiser that is near and dear to Ravens; drop by the Tory Building, make a donation and win some prizes!

EngLAN
6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Description: Students get together with their teams to play some tabletop games, and to play any of their favorite video games with each other. Students are welcome to bring their laptops or board games if they have any games, however, it is not required. Any students who don’t want to bring a computer/games will have the opportunity to participate in any of the tabletop games (supplied by EngFrosh) for the entirety of the event.

CUSA’s NEON Carnival

We are thrilled to announce that Preston Pablo will be performing at our Fall Orientation Closeout Concert on Friday. This concert is exclusive to Fall Orientation and Upper Year Orientation participants, you will need to show your wristband to get in.
Must wear your orientation bracelet, no bags, no food or beverages.

MarketSCOTT and “Stream Lunch”
10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Description:Teams will participate in activities at Major Hills Park. There will be 3 day-of Spirit Challenges happening during MarketSCOTT. Lunch will be provided and participants will be able to sit with Facils and Heads from their programs to discuss academics and receive advise from these upper year students on some of the pertinent resources available to help students succeed throughout their first year.

Overnight Raft Design Competition
7:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.
Description: Join your team in an overnight design competition where each team will take over a level of the Parking Garage #9 as they spend the evening (and early morning) building floatation devices to compete in EngFrosh Raft Racing the following morning. Each team will be given supplies and specifications to ensure their design is water-ready; but teams will have plenty of freedom for creativity.

Description: The highlight of the week as teams will race their floatation devices that were designed and created the night before. Will your raft be the fastest? Will your raft sink? Be there to cheer on your team and join in on the excitement.

Description: Officially wrap up the week with your team and find out the winners of EngFrosh 2023!

- Weeklong Events

Scavenger Hunt
Description: Teams will compete in a weeklong scavenger hunt where participants can collect special items or take photos from areas across campus and throughout Ottawa. Strict rules are enforced; no scavenger hunt taking place during class time.
EngFrosh Tradeup
Description: Each team will receive a small trinket, and will work through the week to trade that trinket to get the most valuable item possible. You never know when a paper clip can become a piano!
