This year’s Founders Seminar series kicked off with a visit to the Azrieli School of Architecture and the Tiny Houses being built under the guidance of Professor Scott Bucking. The Tiny Houses are part of the Northern Nomad project initiated by the school’s undergraduate students. Professor Bucking heads up the Community Design Laboratory. His primary area of research is in the creation of net-zero energy homes and communities. Students were introduced to the design challenges of building a tiny house that will be fully off-grid and self-sufficient in both energy and water. Also included was a guided tour of the houses. Unfortunately for several of our graduates, the houses will not be available for rental.
