As a part of celebrating GIS day this year, CUGESA co-presidents Sophie Larocque & Sabrina Ornawka put forward the idea to promote map-making and cartography within the department by having students submit their best maps. Maps that students have either created in previous classes, through work, or were made specifically for this contest. Sophie and Sabrina collaborated with geospatial specialists at the university in judging the entries. The winners received prizes ranging from MEC gift certificates, Skip the Dishes gift certificates, and CUGESA mugs.
