Welcome to Geography and Environmental Studies

At Carleton’s Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, you’ll join a community of dedicated scholars focused on tackling these urgent global issues. Our department is a collegial, research-intensive group strongly committed to ensuring equity and expanding diversity, both in terms of the backgrounds of our faculty and in our curricular offerings for Carleton’s wide-ranging student body.

We offer three programs of study leading to an undergraduate degree GeographyGeomatics and Environmental and Climate Change Studies. Students can obtain a B.A. or a B.Sc., Honours, or Combined Honours Degree. We also offer a specialization in Globalization and the Environment as part of the Bachelor of Global and International Studies program.
