Recording: “Text Neck”: Why this posture is causing you pain
When looking straight ahead, the average weight of your head is about 10-12 pounds. When we look down at our phones, tablets and computers, even a slight forward bend can double the weight of your head. This places increased strain on your spine and the muscles in your shoulders and back. With average screen time being 4-5 hours per day, this prolonged posture can start to cause pain, headaches and weakened muscles.
During this session, Dr. Bernhardt will discuss a few modifications you can make throughout the day to decreased the effects of “text neck”, as well as how chiropractic care has been shown to relieve aches and pains associated with this prolonged forward posture.
