COVID-19 Service Update: Effective December 16, 2021

The International Student Services Office (ISSO), in alignment with Carleton University, is currently operating virtually due to public health guidelines.  Our physical office will remain closed until further notice, but we are available to answer any questions by email at isso@carleton.ca with regular office hours of Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Carleton University’s COVID-19 website contains information, answers to frequently asked questions and the latest campus-wide emails that have been sent to the Carleton community.

Non-Essential Travel

Effective December 15, 2021, the Government of Canada implemented a ‘Level 3: Avoid all non-essential travel’ advisory due to the spread of the COVID-19 Omicron variant. Many foreign governments are implementing strict travel restrictions with short notice, which may limit international transportation options making it difficult for travellers to return to Canada.

It is recommended that Carleton University students avoid all non-essential travel.

Please review our Current Travel Information webpage which is updated frequently with announcements and information as it becomes available pertaining to travel requirements.

Welcome to the ISSO!

The International Student Services Office (ISSO) offers services and programs that contribute to positive international experiences for all Carleton students. We are dedicated to helping international and exchange students adjust to life in Canada and to helping them get the most out of their student experience.

If you are travelling to Canada to attend Carleton, please connect with the ISSO for quarantine planning support and  assistance with navigating international travel requirements.

The ISSO supports and encourages Carleton students in gaining international exposure both locally and abroad through volunteer opportunities, international internships and co-op, and participation in exchange or study abroad programs.
