The Brass ensemble is a home for students who play brass instruments. In this ensemble, students will gain experience playing music from the brass ensemble repertoire, and learn about the history of the ensemble by studying its history and different styles, from the Renaissance to the present day. Repertoire is drawn from the topics covered, and in addition students are required to prepare an individual project which could be an arrangement, research paper, presentation, or recording. Weekly meetings include rehearsing repertoire, group listening, discussion and recommendations for further reading. Individual projects are presented to the class at the end of the term.
NOTES: No audition required
