  • Instrument and equipment loans are available to approved Carleton students and employees only. All requests are subject to approval.

  • I.e. Organizer, sponsoring body, location, your role.
  • Give a brief rationale for this loan, and a summary of where and how this equipment will be used.

  • 1. The loan agreement shall be made only with active and registered students in the Bachelor of Music (BMUS) and Bachelor of Arts Music (BA Music) programs, and current staff, instructors and faculty in Music.
    2. The loaning of instruments and equipment is available to borrowers who reside in the National Capital Region. The loaned item must remain in the National Capital Region for the duration of the loan agreement.
    3. The loaned item must be returned by the date listed on the agreement. The loan agreement will not extend past the last day of classes in a given term.
    4. The loaned item must remain in the possession of the borrower named on the agreement. Only the borrower has permission to use, store and carry the item.
    5. In the event of loss, theft, damage and/or destruction of the loaned item, the borrower will be solely responsible for replacing the item or reimbursing the department for the cost to fix or replace it. The borrower must immediately contact the department if any harm comes to the loaned item.
    6. The condition of the loaned item will be assessed before the item is signed out, and again once the item is returned. The borrower will be responsible for the cost to repair any damage that is beyond general wear and tear.
    7. The loaned item shall be used only by the borrower for academic purposes as described in their original request. The loaned item cannot be used for non-academic purposes, including professional performances or gigs.
    8. The borrower must follow all care and maintenance requirements as described in the loan agreement and/or as is reasonably expected for a particular item.
    9. The borrower will be fully responsible for the care, safekeeping and storage of the item until it is returned to Music. Music will not require deposits for loans.
    10. The violation of any of the above terms may result in the immediate return of all loaned items and the refusal of any future loans.
