Directed by Mike Tremblay

DATE & TIME: Fridays 8:30-11:30AM
LOCATION: Loeb Building

The Carleton University Saxophone Ensemble has been building saxophone quartets and choirs for more than ten years.  The ensemble is primarily made up of BMus performance students, but we also welcome students from other programs.

The Carleton Saxophone Ensemble rehearses and performs a wide variety of music including Classical, Baroque, Jazz, Contemporary, Latin and even some student composed and arranged works.  Our quartets have gained extensive performance credits over the years. Most recently, “The Raven Saxophone Quartet” performed a feature concert at the 2021 Musicfest Nationals.  Early in 2020, the same group performed at the International Chamber Group Competition at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston MA.

Playing in a saxophone quartet allows students to hone their skills and work on time, intonation, blend and balance, style, articulation, improvisation, and dynamics in an enjoyable and inclusive environment.
