Contract Instructor Opportunities 2014-2015
The Department of Neuroscience will require a contract instructor(s) for the Fall/Winter 2014/15 terms. Pursuant to Article 16.3 of the CUPE 4600 Unit 2 Collective Agreement, subject to Article 16.2 and 16.4 through 16.7, expressions of interest are invited from members of the CUPE 4600 bargaining unit and other interested persons to teach the following Neuroscience course(s) during the 2014/15 fall/winter semesters.
Candidates should be proficient with the English language, have experience using (and preferably teaching) use of SPSS statistical software, and hold at least an M.Sc. in Psychology, Neuroscience, Statistics, or a related field. Priority will be given to candidates holding a PhD and/or those with relevant teaching experience at the university level. For those applicants who have not taught in the Department of Neuroscience, a letter of reference in support of your teaching ability is required.
Fall and/or Winter
NEUR 4001 [0.5 credit]
Special Topics in Neuroscience
Each section of NEUR 4001 deals with a different topic. Topics change yearly. Students may register in more than one section of NEUR 4001 but can register in each section only once.
Prerequisite(s): each section will have its own.
Lectures three hours a week.
As outlined in article 15.3, applicants are required to submit an up to date CV, including a complete listing of all courses taught within the CUPE 4600 Unit 2 bargaining unit at Carleton University, and a Contract Instructors Application Form:
In addition, all candidates must submit a one page proposal introducing a special topic of their choice. The proposal should include a brief summary of the topic and how it would add to the breadth of the Neuroscience programs. Complete application and proposal should be sent by June 1, 2014, to:
