Biography
I graduated from the Neuroscience Honours program in Spring 2019. When I finished my third year, I didn’t have a clear path for what I wanted to do in the future, I just knew that I wanted to be in health care. With the help of my mentors, I found Occupational Therapy (OT) at the University of Alberta and I have loved everything about it!
Occupational therapists focus on helping individuals (re)learn activities they are currently unable to perform, which includes everything from daily activities of living such as dressing and eating, to learning to walk with a prosthetic or use a wheelchair. I love that OTs can work with individuals in many different situations, including acute and chronic health care, mental health work, social work and in schools with kids with developmental disabilities.
These two sentences can’t even begin to encompass all that OTs do, so if you would like to find out more please send me an email and we can chat some more.
