Scholarly Work & Research Interests:
Chee lab research on the neurobiology of obesity focuses on the neurocircuitry and mechanisms of neuronal transmission underlying metabolic disease. Using animal models, their work highlighted the role of the hypothalamus in nutrition, exercise, and mental health for body weight control. The Chee lab integrates circuit tracing techniques with electrophysiology, imaging, and behavioral tools, and they strive to answer questions at the cellular, systems, and whole organism level.
