Dr. Melissa Chee earned her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Alberta and completed postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School. Her current interests are lab plants, snacks, and neuron art.

Scholarly Work & Research Interests:
The Chee lab investigates the neurobiology of obesity. The brain is a key organ in obesity, and their research examines the internal and external factors that influence the brain in obesity.
- Internal factors – the role of the brain defining the neural circuits that controls feeding and energy expenditures
- External factors – how diet can alter these neural circuits
