Biography
At the time of writing this bio, I am a neuroscience and mental health undergraduate student at Carleton who is finishing up 2 more courses of my degree – I’m almost free!
My career plans are currently pending; however, I am interested in human biology and anatomy, the mechanisms of the brain (of course), and mental health symptomatology and treatment. I am currently looking for avenues that will lead me down this path. When I’m not stu(dying), I love to listen to and play music (I love to sing and am currently learning guitar!), reading (although most reading I do today is required class content), and dancing (I love all styles but am currently taking ballet classes).
Advice for Current Students
One piece of advice I’d give a neuroscience student (and most notably 4th year students) is that university is hard, you know this, and with each year that passes and with the finish line within sight, it can become tempting to sit back and coast, but every year is important because it either counts or sets you up for the next year that’ll count, especially if you are looking to apply for graduate or professional schools. It is in your best interest to cut out unnecessary distractions and try not to introduce new jobs or activities that require a substantial amount of time each week. University is a lot of time and hard work, but it will be worth it!
