Biography
After completing my B.Sc. Honours Neuroscience in June 2015, I went onto graduate studies in the Masters of Clinical Science Audiology program at the University of Western Ontario.
Carleton’s Neuroscience department has two excellent attributes that contributed to the personal success I’ve achieved: a group of knowledgeable, helpful professors, and a number of fellow students that are engaged and excited about neuroscience. From daily discussion in classes, to NeuroTalks and other events put on by the Neuroscience Society, to wandering into a professor’s office just to talk out a study topic – there are so many opportunities to learn about the brain and grow.
I am so thankful to have been part of such a stimulating and rewarding program at Carleton. Without my Sensory Processes class in third year, I wouldn’t have even thought of audiology as a future career. I hope to specialize in pediatric audiology and help kids with cochlear implants improve hearing. For my capstone, I did the 4907 Honours Essay with Mike Hildebrand, and I can’t thank him enough for the support he gave me over the course of my final year.
