Biography
I completed my undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at Carleton before continuing on to a Master of Neuroscience at Carleton with Dr. Melissa Chee, using in vitro optogenetics to determine the functional connectivity of a novel population of cells in the zona incerta in the hypothalamus with the superior colliculus. I am on the Society for Neuroscience Ottawa Chapter committee for the Brain and Mental Health art show. In my free time I enjoy reading (usually non-scientific books), and creative activities like knitting and embroidery.
Advice for Current Students
4th year is very busy and it is easy to lose track of time and get carried away with work. Try to make some time to relax and do something you enjoy every now and then so you don’t get burned out.
