Welcome Grad Students!

On this page you will find resources created by the PMC, tailored specifically to students working at the graduate (or doctorate!) level.

Graduate Student Writing Group

The Graduate Student Writing Group is for any graduate student working on an independent project (seminar or conference paper, grant proposal, journal article, thesis, manuscript, etc).

The group provides a space for accountability for projects without traditional deadlines and the chance for students to set tangible writing goals for the session and for the upcoming week.

PMC Graduate Student Events and Workshops

Graduate Student Summer Circle

The Graduate Summer Circle is meant to provide regular informal social support and accountability, skill-building (e.g., sustaining motivation, self-care, time management, etc.) and dedicated writing time, for graduate students aiming to be productive and connected to other graduate students this summer

Join us every Monday from 10:00am-12:00pm, starting April 22 through July 15. Please note that the group falls during two statutory holidays (May 20 and July 1). The group will be rescheduled to the following day (May 21 and July 2).

For the first 30 minutes of each session, the group will

  • reflect on their progress on the previous week and set tangible goals for the session;
  • and discuss tips and tricks for staying motivated, self-care, and time-management in graduate school.

The remaining hour and a half will be dedicated to graduate work.

Register for the Writing Group through Ventus.

Once registered, you will receive an Outlook series invitation with Zoom link. Registration is free but required. Registrants will receive a one-pager of graduate resources in advance of the first session.
