Congratulations to Robin Varma for successfully defending his doctoral dissertation, Ruling Bodies: On Coercion in the Statecraft of Plato (Nov. 2021). His work highlights a problem in the way we understand coercion in modern politics, and offers a framework and context for thinking about this. It will be released in hardcover print by Lexington Books in the Fall of 2022.
