A new research placement course (PECO 5907) for our IPE Master’s students was approved last year and we are running it for the first time this year (2011-2012). The placement is an opportunity for IPE students to engage in research activities with local, national and international organizations based in Ottawa. So far, the take up of this opportunity has been fantastic! Students have done research placements with the Canadian Labour Congress, the Canadian Association of University Teachers, KAIROS, Just Food, the United Nations High Commission for Refugees and a federal NDP Member of Parliament’s office. Thank you to our community contacts for helping to make this course such a success – and thanks to the students for their enthusiastic response to this new initiative.
