Carleton University’s Institute of Political Economy is pleased to announce our 17th Annual Graduate Students Conference. The theme will be “Beyond Crisis: Innovative Analysis through Intersectionality.” We invite MA and PhD students of all disciplines to submit abstracts on a wide selection of issues, both domestic and international. The conference will take place at Carleton University on February 26, 2016.
Our aim is to bring together innovative interdisciplinary and intersectional perspectives on past, current and future crises in order to locate analyses that can help move us beyond conflict and austerity. The focus on intersectionality is not intended to narrow which theoretical perspectives are relevant, but to emphasize how a holistic range of analyses can complement each other and deepen our understanding.
Please submit your 250-300 word abstract to ipecarleton@gmail.com by December 12, 2015. Successful applicants will be notified and informed of paper submission deadlines. Final papers are expected to be at least 3, 000 words. See poster for a list of suggested themes.
