RAship for Austerity Research Project
One student entering the MA in Political Economy program at Carleton University in 2017-18 will be selected as a Research Assistant for the project “Austerity and its Alternatives”. The Institute of Political Economy is a partner in this research alliance, and receives funding for an RA to work for a researcher at the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives (https://www.policyalternatives.ca). The CCPA is an independent, non-partisan research institute concerned with issues of social, economic and environmental justice. This research opportunity will provide the student selected with invaluable practical experience working for an NGO on policy-related research. The candidate for this award will be chosen based on the following criteria:
>Outstanding undergraduate academic record
>Familiarity with data management including use of excel spreadsheets. Familiarity with statistical programs (spss, sas, stata, etc) would be an asset.
>Excellent writing skills with the ability to synthesize complex ideas.
