The Institute of Political Economy is pleased to announce the Donna Coghill Scholarship, which is being established on the occasion of her retirement in July 2021. The scholarship will honour her decades of service to Carleton and especially to the students of the Institute of Political Economy.
As the sole administrator of the Institute of Political Economy for more than two decades, Donna served as the Institute’s heart and its historical memory, and was a tireless advocate for its students. Donna perpetually helped graduate students navigate their myriad hurdles and anxieties, financial and otherwise. In honour of that dedication to students, and of the life and love she poured into the program, the Institute and her family want to celebrate her legacy with this scholarship fund.
The Donna Coghill Scholarship will be given annually to at least one incoming graduate student in the MA program in Political Economy, on the recommendation of a committee comprised of the Director and the Administrator. It will be administered by the Institute, and aims to provide meaningful support to those who need it most.
To Donna, we hope it is a fitting way to say ‘thank you!’.
