IPE theory, global governance and institutions, technology, environment, order and security

Before beginning your studies at the Institute of Political Economy where did you study and what program(s) were you enrolled in?

I spent five years in the Royal Canadian Navy as a weapons engineering technician before an injury led me to Carleton where I received an honours BA in political science.

What is it specifically that attracted you to study Political Economy at Carleton?

I found the learning environment at Carleton to be incredibly positive. I was mentored and inspired by all of my professors and discovered my affinity for political economy through the enthusiasm and professionalism of those instructors who specialize in the discipline.

My areas of research interest include…

IPE theory, global governance and institutions, technology, environment, order and security.

What activities have you been involved in lately?

I am a newlywed and focus most of my attention outside of my studies on my wonderful wife and our dog.

What advice would you give to a prospective Political Economy graduate student?

No matter your background or research interest, the interdisciplinary nature of the discipline makes for an attractive program that can be specialized across a host of interests.
