Before beginning your studies at the Institute of Political Economy where did you study and what program(s) were you enrolled in?

I studied here at Carleton University. I received my Honours Bachelor of Arts in Global and International Studies with a specialization in Global Politics and a minor in German.

What is it specifically that attracted you to study Political Economy at Carleton?

The program provides the opportunity to tailor your degree to your interests. I also really enjoy interacting with faculty and students, who are passionate about what they do. The size of the program also creates a feeling of community, and you get to know your fellow students well.

My areas of research interest include…

Indigenous Political Economy, Economic Policy, Global Finance, Economics of Resource Extraction, Labour History, and the study of political parties, both in Canada, and internationally.

What activities have you been involved in lately? (work placement, work experience, Undergraduate research, research positions, volunteer work, awards, travel, favourite books)

I work on various political campaigns at the municipal, provincial, and federal level. I also author content for continuing education seminars provided by the Ontario Association of Social Workers.

What advice would you give to a prospective Political Economy graduate student?

Make sure you’re studying something you enjoy, read texts closely and carefully, and talk with your professors and classmates about theory both in and outside the class.
